Bhopal. A Health Run was organised by the army for its families and veterans at Sultania Infantry lines on 11 February 2018. Aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle within their homes and surroundings, the army personnel are spreading awareness in their immediate vicinity. Army is striving to create an ecosystem of physical fitness spearheaded by its troops and extending to their families as well as veterans. The army feels that such endeavours will in turn further boost physical fitness amongst the army men themselves.
The run which kicked off at 7:30 AM on Sunday with almost 500 participants, had age groups varying from 07 to 70 years. Accordingly a 2.5 km route was planned for children and families and a 4.5 km route for adults. 400 participants who had registered early were presented with T-Shirts. Besides attractive prizes for all categories, the fun filled morning had a wholesome health package to include a Zoomba session, lectures on cardio and physical health as well as a Book fair and Organ Donation awareness campaign. The lecture on cardio health and healthy life style by Dr SubodhMondal of L N Medical College and Captain Shweta of Military Hospital Bhopal was well received. The stalls on Healthy eating, Book fair and Organ Donation drive also received a very good response. All participants pledged to ensure healthy living and to inculcate a healthy diet and healthy life style. The event culminated with a healthy breakfast/ snacks packet being distributed to each runner.This was the third run in the series of physical fitness events orgainsed by army within the past two months for its families.(UpdateMpCg.com)
